About this course
We live in a constant state of communication, interacting with ourselves, others, audiences, and traditional and new media. Our awareness of this reality and the skills needed to interact effectively with our environment vary, even though effective communication can account for up to 80% of success in our family and work relationships. In this series of lectures, the instructor highlights the concept of communication, its elements and levels, and the most prominent theories of influence and communication at the interpersonal, mass, and media levels. This forms a foundation for developing the individual’s communication skills across different contexts. The course covers topics such as the basics and history of communication, motives and effects of communication, development of communication media and thought, self and organizational communication, nonverbal communication, and the role of the official spokesperson.
