About this course
The UC Berkeley College of Engineering online Master of Advanced Study in Engineering (MAS-E) is a part-time, self-paced, 100% online master’s degree designed for working professionals in engineering and technology. The program can be completed in approximately 24 months and consists of 23 courses (24 units) with flexible, pay-as-you-go tuition totaling about $42,000 USD plus per-semester fees. Students learn from top-tier, world‑renowned Berkeley Engineering faculty through lecture videos, hands-on projects, and live office hours, while connecting with instructors and peers remotely. Learners design a personalized study plan using the MAS-E Degree Planner and choose from three interdisciplinary concentrations: Energy, Infrastructure & the Environment (EIE); Advanced Electronics Manufacturing & Materials (AEMM); and AI/ML, Robotics, and Controls (AIRC). These tracks prepare graduates for roles such as infrastructure project manager, structural engineer, sustainability consultant, geotechnical engineer, manufacturing engineer, materials scientist, product development engineer, industrial engineer, robotics engineer, and autonomous systems developer.
