About this course
Working with electronics can be fun but confusing when you're just getting started. In this beginner course, electrical engineer Barron Stone explains the fundamental concepts of electricity—voltage, current, resistance, and power—using clear, easy-to-understand analogies. You’ll review the science behind electricity, then apply these ideas to build basic circuits. The course covers conductors and insulators, conventional current flow, Ohm’s Law, SI prefixes, and how to calculate component values, such as choosing the correct resistor for an LED circuit. You’ll also learn the differences between ideal theoretical power sources and real-world power supplies, and how to use a digital multimeter to measure voltage and current and troubleshoot simple electronic circuits.
